Obituary

William Keith Howell was born to Nettie Howell and James Sheppard on June 5, 1966, in Oklahoma City. He was the third child of Nettie's four children. He was proceeded in death by both of his parents.

Keith attended Progressive Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He was educated at William Knotts Elementary, Southeast Middle School; then he attended Southeast High School where he was involved in ROTC and ran track. He later moved to Spencer, OK and finished his last two years of school at Star Spencer High School where he performed in many talent shows and dance off competitions. Keith met Elizabeth Ann Hill and a relationship formed that created a precious daughter, Kiara Hill. Keith was also blessed with a bonus son, Timothy Hill.

Keith was a one of a kind jokester and a family man. He loved fishing, family vacations, dancing, skating (one of the best), and sports. Keith played in the NBA Hoop It Up for many years with his brothers Melvin (Buster) and Lionel, his best friend Willie (Hook), his cousin Keith P. and Uncle Wayne.

Children from family and friends would appear at Keith's house where he would welcome them with open arms. Keith would like to take everyone to the fair, parks, rodeos, skating, football, baseball, and basketball games. Keith's home was open to anyone who stops by; and he made nachos because that's what he cooked best. Everyone saw Keith as the fun uncle and whose house they wanted to always visit. Keith worked at Sonic, Girardi's, and Johnson Control, Paccar until his car accident left him paralyzed. His mother (Nettie, better known as Granny Betty) retired to become his personal caregiver until his death. Keith's loving daughter took on the role of his caregiver until his death. Keith attended Abundant Life Church where he accepted Christ in the name of Jesus. He was a Sunday school teacher for the young people which was something he enjoyed and the children he taught loved him as much as he loved them.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, God called Keith to his heavenly HOME IN GLORY.

Keith leaves to celebrate his life and memory his daughter, Kiara Carr (Darnell), on granddaughter Ashaiona Hill, three grandsons Major, Dea'Von and Rylan Carr; one son, Timothy Hill and his two daugthers Janyla and Amerrah, all of Oklahoma City; four loving brothers, Melvin (Buster) Howell (Darla) and Lionel Howell (Chrystal) both of Oklahoma City; James Sheppard and Carlos Sheppard, both from Texas; two sisters Salena Buckley from Mississippi; and his loving sister, Twila (Pumpkin) Long of Oklahoma City; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
