Warren Dixon
Combs
May 26, 1940 — Feb 12, 2020
On the glorious Sunday morning of May 26, 1940, twin boys, Warren and Richard Combs were born to Minnieola Johnson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He grew up very close with his older sister Forrest, older brother, Richard and younger brother Larry. Warren attended and graduated from Douglass High School in 1959 and worked tirelessly his entire life.
Warren met Rita Mae Hill in 1974 and they married December 15, 1979. To this union, one child was born named Warren Combs Jr., on July 21, 1979. He joined the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1975, where he was baptized and remained a faithful member, serving with the Angel Food Ministry, Prison Ministry and driving the church van.
Always dedicated and committed, Warren was most recently employed at the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled, where he worked for the last 10 years, never retiring. He believed that he found his passion in working with the disabled and he was genuinely beloved by everyone he touched.
Warren was also a loving and dedicated father to his children, Rolanda and Warren Jr., always imparting his vast wisdom and graciousness. Warren was known for his strong and quiet demeanor and willingness to move through life without complaint.
Warren's peaceful presence on this earth ended peacefully on February 12, 2020. He was preceded in death by his brother Larry Quarrels, sister Forrest Burns and mother Minnieola Johnson. After 43 years of marriage, he precedes his wife Rita Combs in death. He also leaves behind his daughter and caretaker, Rolanda, his son and namesake, Warren, his twin brother Richard Combs of San Antonio, Texas and a great multitude of family members, friends and loved ones who were greatly impacted by his life.
He Only Takes The Best
A heart of gold stopped beating. Two shining eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.. Little did we know that morning, the sorrow the day would bring.
The end was sudden, the shock severe, and we never knew your time was so near. We hear your voice and see your face, your sweet memory will linger on. God knew you had to leave us, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
