Robert Earl Traylor Sr., was born on January 4, 1952 to Robert
and Arnetta Traylor. He was the sixth of ten children and
known to his close friends and family as "Brother Boy".
He attended Arcadia elementary school. He graduated from
Star Spencer High School in 1970. After high school, Robert
began his career with Oklahoma County District One. He
worked for 27 years as a heavy equipment operator. He retired
in 2015 to enjoy spending more time with his family.
On July 5, 1974, Robert married Cheryl L. Traylor and to this
union three children were born, Cheronda, Robert Jr. and
Arlinda. Cheryl preceded Robert in death in 2001. Robert
married Vanessa Hines on July 26, 2003. They were married
for17 years.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his
tractor and his four-wheeler. He also enjoyed cutting yards
and helping others. He was a pillar in the community of
Arcadia. Robert was well-loved and well-respected. He will
be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Barbara,
Sharon, Gwen and Norma Gale and one granddaughter, Oary
Canady.
Robert accepted Jesus Christ into his life at an early age. From
his youth, he was a member of St. James AME in Arcadia.
His life came to an end on September 8, 2020 and he entered
"Eternal Rest."
His survivors include: his loving and caring wife, Vanessa, his
daughters, Cheronda (Ondray Sr.) Canady, Arlinda (DeWayne)
Williams, and Renesia (David) Nash, his sons, Robert Traylor
Jr., Jabaar (Markesha) Bilbury and Jeremiah (Carliss) Bilbury,
one brother, Rodney (Jeanette)Traylor, his sisters, Ilene (Bobby)
Marshall, Judy Reese, Audrey McCoy and Vickie (Raymond)
Alexander, his grandsons, Ondray Canady Jr., Choncy Canady,
Omon Canady, Robert E. Traylor, III and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
