Patricia Joyce Barber's Obituary
Patricia Joyce Barber was born June 28, 1950. She was the first born child of
Della Alonzo Colbert in Geary, Oklahoma. She accepted Christ into her life at
an early age at Marshall Memorial Baptist Church.
Patricia met the love of her life James W. Barber, Sr. in 1978 and united in
marriage in 1979, and celebrated 39 years together. Five children were
adopted. The family became members of The Loving St. James Baptist Church,
Spencer, OK.
A Perfect World

sadness would not be found. Love, life and
happiness forever would abound...
Della Alonzo Colbert in Geary, Oklahoma. She accepted Christ into her life at
an early age at Marshall Memorial Baptist Church.
Patricia met the love of her life James W. Barber, Sr. in 1978 and united in
marriage in 1979, and celebrated 39 years together. Five children were
adopted. The family became members of The Loving St. James Baptist Church,
Spencer, OK.
She attended Langston University, graduated with a degree in Early Childhood
Development. Also, she was employed with Farmers Insurance, Tinker Air
Force Base. Later she worked with Community Action Agency, and retired as
a pre-school teacher for over 30 years.
Patricia was preceded in death by her mom, dad and sister (Doris Colbert).
She is survived by her husband, James W. Barber, Sr., Five children: Delia
and Tymaine Carolina (Son-in-Law), Cody Barber, Jeremy Barber, Annette Barber
(Annie), and Vincent Barber. Her sisters: Brenda Allen, Claudette Colbert, and Valorie
Charles McMillian (brother-in-law). Her brothers: Terry Colbert, Gregory Colbert, and
Charles Colbert (Chuck), sixteen grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, uncles,
aunts, and other relatives and many friends.
