Maybelle Thomas Fisher was born on December 2, 1932, to Thomas H. Thomas and Ella Turner in Sasakwa, OK, located in Seminole County. She was the oldest sibling in the home wither father, having lost her mother at a young age, and often took on a more mature role to help raise her at a younger sisters and brothers.

She confessed her life to Christ as a young woman and continued her Christian walk throughout her lifetime. From humble beginnings, she built a life of faith and service.

Maybelle bought her home in 1968, where she raised her two children. She had a thirst for knowledge and constantly read and took classes to increase her opportunities. She was very encouraging for educational advancement for her children and grandchildren. She married Floyd Fisher on August 28, 1992, and enjoyed a wonderful union full of laughter, travel, love, and friendship until his death in 2002. She retired from OU Medical in 1994, after twenty years. In her home time, Maybelle loved to cook and garden. She also was known to lift a hammer and climb a ladder.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son, one brother and four sisters.

Her daughter was by her side when she slept away peacefully on December 26, 2022, after a long illness and hard-fought battle. She leaves to cherish her memory a bother, Marlin Thomas of Issaquah, Washington; daughter M. Frances Johnson "Jill"; grandchildren: Tyler L. Thomas (Menyounda), Christian Haywood, Shemka Wilbert; great grandchildren: Tylere Thomas, Jaylen Thomas; great-great grandchild, Jaylen Thomas Jr.; stepdaughter: Helen Irene Jones (Landers Sr.), Verna Lynn Smith (Harold); stepsons: Vernon Fisher Sr. (Sharon), Curits Fisher (Rita); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the Northeast Church of Christ Family.
