John (loving known by everyone as "Puncho") was born to Madell Beaird and Johnny Lee Brooks, on September 17, 1962. He was born and raised in Oklahoma City and attended Northeast High School. After graduation he began his career at the Oklahoma City Highway Patrol then continued his employment at OU Medical Center for 16 years before retiring. Puncho loved spending time with his family and watching football. He was an avid OU Football fan, he never missed a game!
