Jean was born on January 17, 1943 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Laura and Henry Colbert. At an early age Jean attended AME Baptist Church in Atoka, Oklahoma. The family later moved to Langston, Oklahoma where she attended school until moving to Oklahoma City where she attended Douglas High School. Jean met Robert Rutledge in the early 1960's together they raised four children. She joined Greater First Deliverance Temple in early 1970's where she was a faithful memeber until her health hindered her from being physically present. Jean loved the Lord and she never once met a stranger, as everyone she met was indeed going to hear about Jesus. She was and will be known as a witness for Christ. Jean was proceeded in death by both parents Henry and Laura Colbert. As well as two brothers Arthur Ray Colbert and Henry Kirkland and one son, Terrance Colbert. She leaves to cherish her memory many loving siblings, her children as well as 42 grandchildren, Her loving companion Michael Gaines of many years; sister, Pearline Alexander, Evelyn Smith; Eileen Dryke (Dan); sister-in-law, Viola Kirkland; four sons, Reginald Colbert, Bryan Colbert (Lashawn), Gregory Colbert and Vernon Colbert (Amy).
