On July 25, 1941, Hollis Gene Lloyd was born to Lawrence and Cassie Lloyd. He was blessed to be a child of a large family consisting of 17 brothers and sisters. Being raised on 136 acres in Kaufman, Texas Lloyd did everything from picking cotton, working farm animals, roofing, all while maintaining good grades in school. Hollis had a successful career in the U.S. Air Force where he retired as a Master Sargent after 20 years. While being stationed in Boston he met the who would become the love of his life Melva Evans, who would become his bride for the next 57 years. From this union 2 wonderful children were born daughter Andrea and son David. Lloyd's second career would be HGL Construction, where he served as president very happily.  He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early and with much loved to serve at Greater Mount Olive Church for 49 years wearing many hats and loving them all.
