In loving memory of Gloria Matthews who was born on January 18, 1924 to Marshall and Emma Harrell. She was the youngest of four children. She was educated in Oklahoma City Public School but graduated from Douglass High School. She received her license in cosmetologist and instructor. Gloria was owner and operator of Gloria's and Dena's Beauty Salon and Boutique for many years.
In May 1976 she married Paul C. Matthews to this union was born three children Chauncey, Cheryl and Edwina "Dena". Gloria was a devoted member of Spencer Church of Christ. She was a chairperson of the "Women for Christian Education among the local Churches of Christ. Loved ones preceded in her death by both parents, her beloved husband, two daughters Chauncey and Cheryl, her siblings Jesse, Carl, and Rosetta.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Edwina "Dena" Redd; Grandchildren Marvena Maynard, Tony Colbert (LaWanda), Carlous Hudspeth (Mike), Christopher Fowler, Gloria Nicole Gordon (Kevin), Cherdena Daniel (Edward), David Fowler (Sharnell), Brandie Lemons (Terrell), Katrina Flemon (Marc) and Brittani Redd; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless Chauncey-Cher-Dena's family and friends.
