While employed at VA, she developed a very close friendship with Meier and his wife Angela. He stated, "Flo was a stanch OU fan." Everyone who knew Flo was much aware of this. She and her brother-in-law, Dennis Kimbro who lives in Georgia, had spent countless hours on the phone when OU played football. Her home was full of OU pictures and memorabilia. If you watched on OU game, you had to put on an OU t-shirt.

After retiring, she was excellent hostess at Leo's BBQ. Flo loved her family and will be missed by all.
