Edward W.
Jones
Oct 24, 1947 — Jun 30, 2023
Edward W. Jones Sr. was born on October 24th, 1947, in Atlantic City, NJ to Warren G. Jones and Marjorie V. Dato. Edward's wife, Eddie, of 42 years, his father, mother, and two brothers, Richard and Warren G., preceded him in death. Edward came from a loving home where his family taught him the importance of hard work and having a relationship with God. At the tender age of eleven, Edward was baptized at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Pleasantville, NJ.
Edward attended Woodland Ave Elementary School and later graduated from Pleasantville High School. In 1967, Edward was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he proudly served in the Vietnam War until he retired in 1970.
In 1979, Edward met the love of his life, Eddie J. Herndon, and after a short courtship, they married on November 19th, 1979. From this union, they blended their families, which included one son and one daughter. Early in his career, Edward worked as a radio disc jockey, also known professionally as a licensed radio operator. In 1986, Edward decided to change career paths and became a certified Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Specialist. He then founded Northeast Heat & Air, where he was the sole owner and operator. Edward loved his job and the clients he served. People would fondly refer to him as the "Air Conditioner Man." They knew if they Edward, they would get it done right and at a fair price. Edward retired from his career in 2012 to care for his ailing wife, but he would still dabble in the trade that he loved so much from time to time.
Edward leaves to cherish his memories one son, Edward W. Jones Jr. (Tracy) of New Jersey; one daughter Felicia Brown (Ronnie) of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Kourtney and Breannah Jones of New Jersey; two sisters, Verrell Randolph of Oklahoma City and Warretta Williams of Philadelphia; three brothers, Frank Williams, Paul Williams, and Donald Jones, all of NJ. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
