Dwight Dewayne Smith was born February 27, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and departed December 8, 2021 with his wife Kenya Smith by his side. Dwight was the sixth of seven children born to Arnold J. and Shirley Ann Smith.

He attended Willow Brook Elementary and Star Spencer High School. He earned a scholarship in band at the Langston University becoming a member of Langston's Marching Pride as a trombonist.

He began a 20-year career working with young adults with the Job Corps before ultimately earning a Master's in Urban Education in 2016.

Dwight was preceded in death by his loving parents, Arnold J and Shirley Ann Smith; daughter, Kayla F. Smith; precious grandparents, aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife Kenya F. Smith; son, Christopher A. McNeeley; siblings, Vanessa Wallace, Latretta Miles (Walter), Arnold Smith Jr. (Sandra), Tarenna Smith, Kevin Smith and Tarence Smith; and several Aunts and Uncles.
