Obituary

Darrell Wayne Brewer

Darrell "Wayne" Brewer, 79, of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away at his home surrounded by family on March 02, 2023, after a long 4-year battle with cancer.

Wayne was born October 03,1943 to Robert Jackson and Marcile Freeman Brewer in Oklahoma City, OK.  After Wayne graduated from Choctaw High School in 1961, he went on to further his education at Southeastern in Durant, OK and then to OSU and this is where he met his future wife Nancy Periman. He later joined the Oklahoma National Guard in 1963. He and Nancy lived in Dallas, Texas for a short time and realized that his roots and future would begin with Shady Nook Auto Parts. They returned to Oklahoma City and Wayne began establishing a reputation as a hard-working entrepreneur and real estate developer.

Wayne was often seen driving straight down the middle of NE 23rd Street in a white Dodge diesel truck. Wayne was always on the move checking on properties, pulling parts in salvage yards, or helping his children start their own successful businesses.

Wayne did have other interest, after graduating from flight school in 1980, he purchased a small plane. He loved flying this was a favorite hobby, because he couldn't think about anything else but "being in the sky". He also loved playing golf with his friends and snow skiing with family and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry Brewer.  He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Brewer; children: Wes Brewer, Greg Brewer, and Kristi Brewer-Campbell; grandchildren: Darrin Brewer, Trent Brewer, Taylor Carroll, Aren Grossman, Robert Brewer, Webb Campbell, Katherine Campbell, and Elizabeth Campbell, and five great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends.
