Carlene
Johnson
Oct 13, 1959 — Mar 1, 2023
Carlene Prim-Johnson was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 13, 1959. She was the 7 th child to be born to Ervin and Rose Prim. Carlene peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord at home on March 1, 2023. Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Rose Prim; one brother, Maynord Prim; four sisters, Thelma Woods, Darlene Taylor, Lenora Gracey, and Doris Prim Caldwell Johnson; son Antonio Marshall, and granddaughters Caroline Rose Johnson and Autumn Ray Johnson.
Carlene accepted Christ at an early age, and she was baptized. She loved the Lord, which showed in everything she did and where she served. She was a Fruit of the Spirit Ministries member, where Pastor Will Slaughter is the Pastor.
God sent Carlene a soulmate in 1974. They met and fell in love, and were married in July 1977. They were together for 49 years and married for 46 years. To this union six children were born.
Her husband always called her honey, but she had many other names given to her by her children and grandchildren. She was a mother of many children. She loved dancing, singing, shopping, getting her nails done, and always looking fly. She loved to keep her cars clean, and you could find her any random day throughout the week about to wash off her vehicles. She had a smile that would light up any room and that could captivate anyone's attention. She loved her grandchildren more than anything in this world.
Carlene worked at the Enid State School, owned a daycare, and operated as a teacher's assistant for Mid-Del Public School, where she retired from being a special education teacher. She also worked for DHS/DDS but, most of all, she worked graciously as an anointed woman of God, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and great-grandmother, advising the upcoming great-grandchildren and a friend for eternity.
Carlene leaves to cherish her memories her Husband of the home Dexter Sr.; children, Dexter Jr., Jamica Johnson, John Johnson, Chanitha Johnson, Rylon Johnson; siblings; Betty Reid, Oklahoma City, Jackie Taylor (Regetta), Oklahoma City, Victor Prim, Hollywood, CA, Carmella (Arthur), Enid, OK, Ervin Taylor (Myrtle), Oklahoma City, Dwayne Prim, Enid, OK, Keith Prim (Edie), Dover, OK, Craig Prim (Lilly), Enid, OK, Wendell Prim (Servrina), Kingfisher, OK, Sherry Junius (Nathaniel), Mustang, OK, Aunt Susie Taylor, Montgomery, AL, Uncle George Taylor, Cleveland, OH, 20 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whom Carlene loved and those who loved her.
