Because of Death

Because I could not stop for Death, He

kindly stopped for me; the carriage held

but just ourselves and immortality...

We slowly walked, He knew no haste, and

I had to put away my labor, my leisure as

well...

We passed the fields of gazing grain, as we

passed the setting sun...

Along the way we paused an old house, that

seem a swelling in the ground; the roof was

scarcely visible, and the cornice but a mound.

As we moved on further, A new home arised

and now my new home is eternity.
