Alvis Bernard "Junior" Polk, Jr., was born on July 21, 1962 in San Diego, California
to Dorothy Jeweline (nee Reeves) and Alvis Bernard Polk, Sr. He was the sixth of
eight children raised in Spencer.  He was a member of the Star Spencer Class of 1980.
He confessed Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age and was excited to always
talk about the Lord, his creator, with anyone who would listen.

As a youth, Junior played little league baseball and in high school he was into gymnastics
and modern dance.  He was devoted to watching sports on television, especially NFL and
NBA games. On Sundays, Junior enjoyed watching the Chopper motorcycle street races.

As the only son in a family of so many girls, his neighborhood friends were like his brothers;
Bruce, Greg and Kim Smith, Reggie Kilpatrick, Ben Harrison and Victor Ware.
His live was turned upside down in 1986 when he suffered mental and physical damage as a
result of a fatal automobile accident. He lost most of his memory and was paralyzed for some
time.  Like his father, Junior was strong-willed and determined to walk again and so he would
walk for several blocks in a body cast daily until he regained his strength.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister (Betty Polk-Nicholson), one brother-in-law
(kenneth Bonzon) and four great nieces and nephews.

Junior leaves to mourn his children Markesha Jones (Aaron) and Austin Polk, sisters ;
Rhonda Denton-Orange, Dorothea Gary (Lewis), Stephanie Alexander (Tracy), Denise Bonzon
(Kenneth), Lynetta Moore and Vanessa Woolridge (Robert); two adopted siblings Raini and Revel Polk;
brother-in-law Larry Nicholson (Betty), two grandchildren Olivia and Ethan and a host of nieces and
and nephews.
